DEM Party's Ömer Öcalan announces: 'We held a meeting with Abdullah Öcalan yesterday'

Following MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call for PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan to 'come and speak at the Parliament,' a terrorist attack was carried out against TUSAŞ in Ankara.

While 5 citizens were martyred as a result of the heinous attack, it emerged that Öcalan's nephew, DEM Party MP Ömer Öcalan, had gone to İmralı 4 hours before the attack.

In a post on his X account, Ömer Öcalan announced that they held a meeting with Abdullah Öcalan yesterday (October 23).

Ömer Öcalan's post is as follows:

“The last face-to-face meeting with Mr. Abdullah Öcalan was on March 3, 2020. As a family, we held a meeting with Mr. Öcalan on October 23, 2024, after many years. We want the routine family visit, which is a legal right, to continue regardless of the circumstances.”

"On October 23, I held a meeting with Mr. Öcalan at the İmralı Island Prison.

This visit took place within the scope of a family visit. During the meeting, Mr. Öcalan made evaluations regarding general political developments and asked for the following message to be conveyed to the public:

'The isolation continues. If the conditions are met, I have the theoretical and practical power to move this process from a ground of conflict and violence to a legal and political ground.'

His health was good and he sent his best regards to everyone."
