It has emerged that 4 hours before the attack, PKK leader Öcalan’s nephew, DEM Party MP Ömer Öcalan, went to İmralı.

The news was announced by Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi and many media outlets close to the government with the words, "I am ready to fulfill my historical responsibility. I will call on the organization to lay down its arms."

While the meeting lasted nearly 2 hours, a terrorist attack took place in Ankara 4 hours later.
