Foot-and-mouth disease alarm in Zonguldak: Many residential areas placed under quarantine
Following the detection of foot-and-mouth disease in the village of Süleymanbeyler in Zonguldak, the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry established a 3-kilometer protection zone and initiated quarantine measures for the villages of Süleymanbeyler, Dedeler, Aydınlar, Güzelyurt, and Pınarcık.

Due to the foot-and-mouth disease detected in the Karadeniz Ereğli district of Zonguldak, animal entry and exit have been temporarily restricted in 2 towns, 7 neighborhoods, and 46 villages.

Teams also established a surveillance zone in the 7-kilometer area outside the protection zone, temporarily restricting animal entry and exit as part of the quarantine measures in the towns of Kandilli and Ormanlı; the neighborhoods of Kepez, Belen, Belenyenimahalle, Kocaali, Ömerli, Ören, and Uzunçayır; and the villages of Alaplısofular, Asarlı, Bakırlık, Ballıca, Bayat, Çayırlı, Çevlik, Çiğdemli, Dağlıca, Danışmentli, Elmacı, Emirali, Esenköy, Gebeköy, Güneşli, Hacıosmanlar, Hacıuslu, Hasankahyalar, Işıklı, İmranlar, Keşkek, Kızılca, Kızılcapınar, Külah, Ortacı, Osmanlar, Ovaköy, Pembeciler, Ramazanlı, Ruşanlar, Soğanlıyörük, Sücüllü, Şamlar, Tepeören, Terziköy, Üçköy, Yalnızçam, Yaraşlıyörük, Yazıcılar, Yunuslu, and Zindancılar.
It was stated that the transport of small and large livestock and animal products to these regions is prohibited until the foot-and-mouth disease has subsided in order to prevent the spread of the disease.
