Hamas: "80 people lost their lives in one night as a result of Israeli attacks in Gaza"

The conflict between Israel and Palestine continues on its 19th day. In a statement made by the media office of the Hamas-affiliated government in the blockaded Gaza Strip, it was reported that at least 80 people lost their lives and hundreds were injured as a result of attacks carried out by Israel throughout the night.

''THE SITUATION IN GAZA IS A GROWING STAIN ON OUR CONSCIENCE''

In a statement made by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), it was stated that at least 2,360 children have lost their lives in the attacks carried out by Israel on the Gaza Strip since October 7. The statement called for an immediate ceasefire and unimpeded access to humanitarian aid. UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Adele Khodr, stated, "The situation in the Gaza Strip is a growing stain on our conscience. The rate of child deaths and injuries is truly staggering. Even more frightening is the fact that unless tensions are de-escalated and humanitarian aid, including food, water, medical supplies, and fuel, is allowed in, the daily death toll will continue to rise."

UNRWA FACILITIES EXCEED CAPACITY

In a statement made by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), it was stated that approximately 600,000 displaced people in the Gaza Strip are staying in UNRWA facilities. The statement said, "Our facilities are operating at over 4 times their capacity. Because the current facilities are overflowing, many people are sleeping on the streets."

''THE DAILY COST OF THE WAR TO ISRAEL IS 246 MILLION DOLLARS''

On the other hand, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced in a statement broadcast on Israeli army radio that the direct daily cost of the war to Israel is approximately 1 billion shekels (246 million dollars). Smotrich stated that, given the war, the 2023-2024 budget is "no longer valid" and will be changed.
