It has emerged that Erol Gök, the suspect who assaulted Supreme Court Prosecutor İşçimen, was tried for stabbing a person in 2010 and had his prison sentence suspended.

On August 30, in Kadıköy, Istanbul, Supreme Court Prosecutor Necip Cem İşçimen was attacked by Erol Gök in traffic.

New details have been reached regarding Erol Gök, who was arrested following the incident.

It has been revealed that Gök had previously been prosecuted and tried for a stabbing incident.

According to the report by Mesut Hasan Benli from Hürriyet, Gök was operating a liquor store in Erzurum in 2010. Due to a fight that broke out at the store, Gök was tried at the Erzurum 4th Criminal Court of First Instance and was initially sentenced to 6 months in prison for the crime of intentional injury.

SENTENCE WAS SUSPENDED

The court later applied a good conduct reduction, lowering the sentence to 5 months in prison. The court suspended the sentence given to Gök on the grounds that “considering the defendant's personality traits and his attitude and behavior during the hearing, the court has formed a full conscientious conviction that he will not commit a crime again in the future if the announcement of the verdict is deferred.”
