Suspect who attacked Supreme Court Prosecutor İşçimen in Kadıköy arrested

Supreme Court Prosecutor Necip Cem İşçimen was subjected to an attack following the Fenerbahçe vs. Alanyaspor match played in the Süper Lig.

Prosecutor İşçimen, who wanted to warn the driver behind him who was honking after getting out of his vehicle upon leaving the match, became the target of a road rage incident.

1 SUSPECT HAD BEEN RELEASED

In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Police Department teams regarding the attack on Supreme Court Prosecutor Necip Cem İşçimen as he was exiting a parking lot in the Feneryolu neighborhood, it was determined through the vehicle's license plate information that the suspects were E.G. and T.T.İ.

T.T.İ., who was determined to have insulted İşçimen, was apprehended and released by the judicial authorities with judicial control conditions after being referred to court.

ATTACKER FOUND TO HAVE 7 PRIOR CRIMINAL RECORDS

According to the information obtained, it was revealed that the attacker had records for 7 separate crimes.

INDIVIDUALS WHO ATTACKED İŞÇİMEN ARRESTED

E.G., who was questioned by the police, was arrested by the court to which he was referred and sent to prison.

On the other hand, T.T.İ., who was in the vehicle and was detained immediately after the incident, had been released under judicial control.

T.T.İ., who was detained again this morning, was also arrested by the court to which he was referred today and sent to prison.

JUDICIAL INVESTIGATION HAD BEEN LAUNCHED

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, in a post on his social media account, stated that he strongly condemned the physical attack on İşçimen and noted the following:

"I convey my best wishes for a speedy recovery to our Supreme Court Prosecutor. A judicial investigation has been launched by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the attack, which has deeply saddened us and our judicial community."

WHO IS NECİP CEM İŞÇİMEN?

Necip Cem İşçimen, the Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor of the Ankara Bureau for Crimes Against the Constitutional Order, who took the first step by launching an investigation and issuing arrest warrants for the coup plotters during the hours when the July 15 coup attempt was in full swing, was the person who connected to 3 separate live broadcasts on July 15 to announce that an investigation had been launched and arrest warrants had been issued against the coup plotters.

During the time İşçimen was in charge of the Constitutional Bureau, a total of 69 separate FETÖ cases were opened, 20 of which were related to the coup attempt.
