‘Justice Ride’ to be held for motorcycle courier Göçer

Mohammed Hassan Shekh Mohamud, the son of the Somali President, caused the death of motorcycle courier Yunus Emre Göçer by hitting him from behind with his car. It was determined that Mohamud left the country on December 2, following a letter sent by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to the Duty Magistrate Judge. Göçer's friends have announced that they will hold a ‘Justice Ride’ regarding the incident.

After the incident, Mohamud was released and an international travel ban was imposed on him. Following a letter sent by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to the Duty Magistrate Judge, an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect.

After searches were conducted, it was determined that Mohamud fled abroad on December 2. Following the suspect's escape, Göçer's friends announced that they would hold a ‘Justice Ride’ on Sunday, December 10. The announcement stated that motorcyclists would gather at the Zincirlikuyu underpass at 12:00 and depart at 13:00. It was reported that the press statement would be made at the Çağlayan Courthouse at 13:30. The announcement included the statement, “We will announce to everyone through the press statement we will make that motorcycle workers are not alone.”

"The son of the Somali President, who killed our friend, left the country just two days after the accident. Our friend lost his 6-day struggle for life and left us, but the person who tore him away from us and his family returned to his country with ease.

To ensure justice is served and to prevent the incident from being covered up, we will ride our motorcycles to the Çağlayan Courthouse and announce to everyone through our press statement that motorcycle workers are not alone.
