Kıvanç and Beril Talu couple referred to the courthouse

Social media influencer couple Kıvanç and Beril Talu have been detained by Istanbul Police on allegations of defrauding their close circle of 150 million Turkish Lira under the pretext of an advertising campaign. The couple was referred to the Anadolu Courthouse and presented to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for their arrest.

According to the allegations, Kıvanç Talu and his wife Beril Talu, known as influencers on social media, defrauded 150 million Turkish Lira with the promise of an advertising campaign they claimed they would conduct.

The Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the couple following complaints, and a travel ban was imposed. The couple was detained at Sabiha Gökçen Airport yesterday afternoon upon their return from Georgia.

Following the procedures at the Public Security Branch Directorate, the couple was brought to the Anadolu Courthouse.

The Talu couple, who were detained within the scope of forgery, fraud, and cybercrime investigations, were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for arrest after their statements to the prosecutor, on charges of "fraud committed by merchants or company managers, or persons acting on behalf of a company, during their commercial activities, or by cooperative managers within the scope of the cooperative's activities."
