Social media influencers Kıvanç Talu and his wife Beril Talu, who were alleged to have fled abroad after a 100 million lira fraud, were taken into custody after returning to Turkey from Georgia.

The suspects, who were processed at the Fraud Bureau, denied the allegations against them, stating, "They had lent us money. They were loan sharking. They are the real criminals."

The suspects were referred to the courthouse following their processing.

'THEY WERE CAUGHT THANKS TO THE POLICE OFFICER'S VIGILANCE'

Journalist Emrullah Erdinç described the process of the couple's capture on his X account with the following words:

"The Talu couple were caught thanks to a police officer at passport control while entering Turkey from Georgia. A police officer, who recognized the couple from the news despite there being no arrest warrant for them in the system at the time of their entry into Istanbul, spoke immediately with the prosecutor. The detention order for the couple was issued thanks to the vigilance of the police."
