Message from CHP's Murat Emir regarding Diamond Tema

Emir made a statement on his social media account regarding Diamond Tema, who shared his views on the Sharia system during a recent social media broadcast and subsequently left Turkey to settle in Albania, stating that he had been threatened following the broadcast.

Stating that Turkey was founded through an unprecedented war of independence, Emir said, "The Republic of Turkey was founded through the gains of an unprecedented war of independence in the world, and as stated in Article 2 of the Constitution, which cannot even be proposed to be changed, it is a democratic, secular, and social state governed by the rule of law. Intellectual debates can take place in the discussions of young people.

We always need young people who research, interpret information, and debate with an open consciousness, not through imposition or threats, regardless of their ideas."

Pointing out that no action is taken against those who shout 'We want Sharia' in courthouse corridors or hold marches, and emphasizing that the investigation launched by the Presidential Communications Office will pave the way for future threats, CHP's Emir reacted to the situation by stating, "However, while no action is taken against the masses who shout 'We want Sharia' and hold marches in the courthouse corridors of this country, the fact that the Presidential Communications Office has launched an investigation into the side defending the secularism principle of the Republic of Turkey during a debate between two young people on social media is an act against the Constitution, and above all, it is a threat to the gains of our Republic and paves the way for future threats. Gentlemen, do not forget that you live in the Republic of Turkey, which is a democratic, secular, and social state governed by the rule of law."
