Ministry of Justice issues arrest warrant for 'Diamond Tema'
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect known as 'Diamond Tema' due to insulting remarks made about Prophet Muhammad in a video shared on the social media account Yer6.
An arrest warrant has been issued for YouTuber Diamond Tema, who is under investigation for "insulting a segment of the public and religious values" due to his statements regarding Prophet Muhammad. Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced the development on his social media account. In his statement, Minister Tunç noted the following:
"Following the video content shared on the social media account named Yer6, which contained insulting, ugly, and provocative expressions regarding our Prophet, an ex officio investigation was immediately launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on 16.06.2024 for the crime of 'publicly inciting the people to hatred and hostility.' As the suspect Diamond Tema is abroad, an arrest warrant has been issued for him. Provocative, ugly, and insulting expressions used regarding the religion of Islam and our beloved Prophet are never acceptable. The investigation is being conducted meticulously."
WHO IS DIAMOND TEMA?
A debate held on the YouTube channel 'Yer6' between pro-Sharia social media personality Asrın Tok and agnostic author Diamond Tema had sparked widespread repercussions on social media.
Diamond Tema was born in Albania in 1994.
Having moved to Turkey in 1996, he completed his schooling and military service there. Working as a broadcast director for local television stations for about 2 years, Tema produced documentaries on 'Ottoman History'.
Diamond Tema is known for his book titled "Agnosticism and Divine Tragedy".
