Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the lifeless body of Rojin Kabaiş, who had been missing for 18 days, has been found.

Minister Yerlikaya stated the following:

"The lifeless body of our university student daughter Rojin Kabaiş, who left her KYK dormitory in Van on Friday, September 27, 2024, and had been missing for 18 days, was unfortunately found by our teams on the shore of Molla Kasım Village in Lake Van.

May God have mercy on our daughter Rojin; I extend my condolences to her family, her loved ones, and our Dear Nation."

 

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ) Faculty of Education, Department of Child Development first-year student Rojin Kabaiş went out after eating dinner at the dormitory where she was staying on September 27.

Her friends, who could not reach Kabaiş by phone when she did not return, notified the police around 12:00 on September 28. It was determined that Kabaiş had said she would go to the shore of Lake Van to collect pebbles around 18:30 on September 27, and that a friend she had invited to go with her had declined the offer.
