WHO IS MURAT KURUM?

Murat Kurum was born in Ankara in 1976. He completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara. Graduating from the Department of Civil Engineering at Konya Selçuk University's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture in 1999, Kurum completed his master's degree in Urban Transformation at Okan University's Institute of Science in 2017.

Having worked in various private organizations between 1999 and 2005, Murat Kurum served as an expert at the TOKİ Ankara Implementation Department between 2005 and 2006, as the European Side Implementation Branch Manager at the TOKİ Istanbul Implementation Department between 2006 and 2009, and as the General Manager and Board Member of Emlak Konut GYO A.Ş., a subsidiary of the Prime Ministry Housing Development Administration (TOKİ), between 2009 and 2018. Following his tenure as the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change between 2018 and 2023, he was elected as the 28th Term AKP Istanbul Deputy.
