First criticism for Murat Kurum comes from victims of unfinished construction projects

There was eager anticipation regarding which candidates the AKP would field in the local elections. Before the official announcement to be made by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan on Sunday, it emerged that Murat Kurum is the AKP's Istanbul candidate.

After the name Murat Kurum began to be discussed following social media posts, victims in Esenyurt who have not been able to take delivery of their apartments for years reminded Murat Kurum of the promise he made in 2019 via the social media accounts they created, and by recalling the promises that have gone unfulfilled since then, they posed the question: "How will you win a race that you are starting at least 100,000 votes behind?"

In a statement he made years ago, Murat Kurum had given the following promises regarding the resolution of the victims' problems:

"We have initiated work to minimize the grievances caused by the unfinished construction projects in Esenyurt. We listened to our citizens and determined our roadmap.

We will manage the process together with our citizens and solve the problem at hand."
