The funeral of Aydemir Akbaş, an important figure in the cinema world who passed away at the age of 88, was held at the Hayrettin Paşa Mosque in Levent, Istanbul. The stampede that occurred during the funeral prayer caused great difficulties for the celebrities and relatives attending the ceremony.

Among the celebrities who attended the funeral were Şafak Sezer, İbrahim Tatlıses, and Mehmet Ali Erbil. However, the crowd formed by citizens wanting to take photos with the celebrities at the ceremony caused the imam to struggle to lead the funeral prayer.

'I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE'

Şafak Sezer reacted to the chaos at the funeral ceremony. Sezer said the following regarding what happened:

"I have neither seen nor experienced anything like this in my life. It was as if people who escaped from a mental hospital had come to the funeral. People asking for money, people asking for jobs! It is an unbelievable disgrace… We couldn't pray, we couldn't do anything. The mosque imam warned everyone when he couldn't lead the prayer. İbrahim brother came to say goodbye to his friend of 45 years and was put in a difficult situation. The coffin was surrounded by TikToker kids in strange outfits, making strange movements… A live-streaming trend has started. It is beyond comprehension. They didn't let us pray; one should have some respect"

Master actor Şener Şen had shown his reaction by shouting "Oh, go away, just go" to a persistent citizen when a similar situation occurred at Kayhan Yıldızoğlu's funeral in recent months. While Aydemir Akbaş's funeral was the scene of similar chaos, these images from the ceremony caused a wide reaction on social media.
