Aydemir Akbaş laid to rest
Actor Aydemir Akbaş, known for his roles in Yeşilçam films, has been laid to rest following a funeral service held in Levent after passing away at the age of 88.
88-year-old Yeşilçam actor Aydemir Akbaş, who was hospitalized in Şişli after his health condition deteriorated, had passed away.
Aydemir Akbaş's funeral prayer was held at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque. The funeral was attended by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, artist İbrahim Tatlıses, actors Şafak Sezer, Mehmet Ali Erbil, and Bülent Bilgiç, Galatasaray Sports Club President Dursun Özbek, General Director of Cinema Birol Güven, and artist Candan Erçetin, as well as many of his loved ones and famous figures.

“WE HAVE LOST A MASTER”
Actor Serkan Şengül, who attended Akbaş's funeral, said, “We have lost a master. We have lost a valuable older brother. I believe we shot the final scene together. Turkish cinema has lost a treasure. I am glad I knew him. I am glad I made films with him. He was a very fun person. May he rest in peace. May his resting place be heaven.”

“HE WAS A MASTER PEN”
Actor Gani Rüzgar Şavata, who attended the funeral, said, “The press and media know this person. He came from cinema and theater. He was a master pen. He was a master director, a master writer. He was an exemplary person with his morality and decency. At the same time, he pursued sports in parallel. He carried sports as well. He was a fanatic of Galatasaray, but he loved all sports. In fact, he was also a pioneer of Turkish sports. He was a person who spent everything he had for art and lived with honor and dignity. He was an exemplary identity.”

Following the funeral prayer, Akbaş's body was laid to rest at the Feriköy Cemetery.
BRIEF SCUFFLE OCCURRED
A scuffle occurred during the arrival of artist İbrahim Tatlıses, who came to the mosque for Aydemir Akbaş's funeral prayer in a wheelchair.
