Two people, including a police commissioner, detained in Sinan Ateş murder case: 'Sinan Ateş’s home address and real-time location data were leaked'

As allegations regarding the investigation into the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ateş remain on the agenda, a very significant development has occurred. Upon the instructions of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, two people, including a commissioner, were detained this morning. The detention order has revealed a new scandal within the police wing of the case.

According to a report by Asuman Aranca from T24, it has been determined that the detained commissioner, M.E.A., leaked information such as "Ateş’s home address, real-time location data, frequently visited places, and the makes, models, and license plates of the vehicles he used" to former Ülkü Ocakları executive Tolgahan Demirbaş, who is alleged to have helped the hitman escape after the murder.

Furthermore, it has been understood that M.E.A. played an active role in the Ateş murder investigation. Whether M.E.A. leaked information to outside parties or tampered with evidence while actively serving on the case file is also being investigated.

THE PERSON WHO HELPED THE HITMAN ESCAPE WAS CAUGHT IN A HOUSE USED BY KILAVUZ

Sinan Ateş lost his life as a result of an armed attack in Çukurambar, one of the most central locations in Ankara, on Friday, December 30. Within the scope of the investigation into the murder, 21 people have been arrested to date, including Eray Özyağcı, who is alleged to be the hitman, and former Ülkü Ocakları executives Tolgahan Demirbaş, Emre Yüksel, and lawyer Serdar Öktem.

It was revealed that Demirbaş, who is alleged to have taken the hitman out of Ankara after the murder, was in a house occasionally used by former MHP MP Olcay Kılavuz, and it was alleged that Kılavuz, who is accused of hiding Demirbaş, argued with the police.

It was also understood that an investigation had been launched against Kılavuz on charges of "aiding in murder."

A SECRET VISIT IN THE YELLOW ZONE

Meanwhile, it was alleged that there was a "deputy chief prosecutor" crisis in the file, and striking claims were made regarding the fact that Deputy Chief Prosecutor Ahmet Altun, who took over the investigation at the beginning of the judicial recess and is known for his proximity to the MHP, went on leave.

It was alleged that Altun first requested the release of the suspects and wanted to withdraw from the investigation after seeing the new evidence added to the file. It was claimed that Altun, who was stated to be insistent on the release of the suspects, including Öktem, argued with the chief prosecutor about this issue and went on leave when his request was not accepted.

Finally, it was understood that the detained lawyer Öktem, who was taken to the hospital on the grounds that he had a heart spasm, was allowed to meet with some names from the top management of the Ülkü Ocakları for about half an hour while under observation in the section referred to as the "yellow zone."

2 PEOPLE DETAINED

While the allegations remain on the agenda, a very significant development has occurred in the investigation. Upon the instructions of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, two people, including a commissioner who was serving in the Ankara Police Department's Homicide Bureau at the time of the murder, were detained this morning.

The detention order revealed a second police scandal after it was understood that the hitman was brought from Istanbul to Ankara by two police officers serving in the Special Operations Department.

INFORMATION LEAKAGE AND EVIDENCE TAMPERING ARE BEING INVESTIGATED

It was determined that the detained commissioner M.E.A. queried "personal information such as Ateş’s phone numbers, home address, real-time location data, address and phone information belonging to his wife Ayşe Ateş, where he went, the address of the office belonging to a friend he visited frequently, and the makes, models, and license plates of the vehicles he used" from the system before the murder and sent them to Tolgahan Demirbaş.

M.E.A., who is accused of aiding the murder by leaking information to the suspects in this way, was understood to have played an active role in the murder investigation after the assassination. Whether M.E.A. leaked information to outside parties or tampered with evidence while actively serving on the case file is also being investigated.

It was learned that similar accusations were directed at the other person detained along with M.E.A. It is alleged that this person also obtained Ateş’s personal information in some way and reported it to Demirbaş, and that Demirbaş passed the information he received from these people to the hitman through Doğukan Çep, who is accused of organizing the murder. In the investigation, 2 police officers who were previously revealed to have brought the hitman from Istanbul to Ankara had been arrested.

"WITNESS" STATEMENT IN THE PRESENCE OF A LAWYER

On the other hand, interesting information has emerged regarding former Ülkü Ocakları executive Emre Yüksel, who was arrested within the scope of the investigation. Accordingly, Yüksel first came to the Ankara Police Department within the scope of the investigation and made a statement confirming that Tolgahan Demirbaş had no connection to the incident. However, his lawyer was also present during his statement at the police station, even though Yüksel was a "witness." It is being discussed that the prosecutor's office will also investigate why the witness statement of Yüksel, who is still a detained suspect, was taken in the presence of a lawyer, and whether any suggestion or guidance was given to this person.
