Striking claim in the Sinan Ateş murder investigation! 'The detained lawyer in the hospital...'
A striking claim has emerged regarding the investigation into the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları President Sinan Ateş. It is alleged that detained lawyer Serdar Öktem, who was taken to the hospital, was allowed to meet with representatives of the Ülkü Ocakları. It is claimed that during the half-hour meeting, certain promises were made to Öktem to ensure his silence.
A striking claim has emerged in the murder case of former Ülkü Ocakları President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ateş, in which 21 people have been arrested.
According to the claim, Lawyer Serdar Öktem, who has been in custody since January as part of the investigation, fell ill in prison at the beginning of July. Öktem was taken to Etlik City Hospital on the grounds that he had suffered a heart spasm.
According to a report by Asuman Aranca from T24, while he was under observation in the section of the hospital known as the “yellow zone,” 5 people, including 2 very critical figures from the top management of the Ülkü Ocakları, visited Öktem.
CERTAIN PROMISES MADE TO ENSURE SILENCE
It is alleged that during the meeting, which lasted about half an hour, “certain promises were made” to Öktem to ensure he would not speak. It is unknown whether there is any judicial or administrative investigation regarding the visit.
DEPUTY CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR WHO REQUESTED RELEASE GOES ON LEAVE
Former Ülkü Ocakları President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ateş lost his life as a result of an armed attack in Çukurambar, one of the most central districts of Ankara, on December 30, 2022. As part of the investigation into the murder, 21 people have been arrested to date, including Eray Özyağcı, who is alleged to be the gunman, and former Ülkü Ocakları executives Tolgahan Demirbaş, Emre Yüksel, and Lawyer Serdar Öktem.
It was revealed that Tolgahan Demirbaş, who is alleged to have taken the gunman out of Ankara after the murder, was in a house occasionally used by Olcay Kılavuz, the MHP MP of the period who was the Ülkü Ocakları President before Ateş, and it was alleged that Olcay Kılavuz, who is accused of hiding Demirbaş, also argued with the police. It was also learned that an investigation had been launched against Kılavuz on charges of “aiding in murder.”
Meanwhile, it was claimed that there was a “deputy chief public prosecutor” crisis in the file, and striking claims were made regarding the fact that Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Ahmet Altun, who took over the investigation at the beginning of the judicial recess and is known for his closeness to the MHP, went on leave.
It was alleged that Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Altun first requested the release of the suspects and wanted to withdraw from the investigation after seeing the new evidence added to the file. It was claimed that Altun, who was stated to be insistent on the release of the suspects, including Öktem, argued with the chief public prosecutor on this issue and went on leave when his request was not accepted.
VISIT IN THE YELLOW ZONE: “PROMISE TO ENSURE SILENCE” CLAIM
A new one has been added to the claims regarding the file. Former Ülkü Ocakları executive Serdar Öktem, who was arrested in January and is shown as one of the most critical suspects in the investigation, fell ill in prison on July 4, about 15 days before the judicial recess, and was taken to the infirmary. After a while, Öktem was referred to Etlik City Hospital with a diagnosis of heart spasm.
According to the claim, 5 people, including 2 very critical figures from the top management of the Ülkü Ocakları, visited Öktem a few hours later, where he was under observation in the section called the “yellow zone.” It was alleged that the visit lasted half an hour and that “certain promises and suggestions to ensure he would not speak” were made to Öktem, who had been in custody for about 6 months at that date.
NOTABLE TIMING
It was also noted that the visit in question took place about 15 days before the first date when Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Ahmet Altun, who is alleged to have gone on leave after his request for the release of the suspects was not accepted and he was disturbed by the new evidence added to the file, took over the investigation.
IS THE HEART SPASM AN EXCUSE?
Meanwhile, it was also claimed that Öktem was referred from prison to the hospital under the “pretext” of having a heart spasm, and thus he was enabled to meet with some people he could not meet while in custody. It is unknown whether any judicial or administrative investigation has been launched against the personnel who accompanied Öktem while he was in the hospital and the officials who ensured his exit from the prison.
“DOGUKAN CEP” ACCOUNT LETTER CLAIM
On the other hand, it is also claimed that the letter shared the other day on X (formerly Twitter) from a suspicious account opened in the name of Doğukan Çep, who was arrested on charges of organizing the murder, was written by Öktem and given to a lawyer who came to the meeting. How the letter in question, which claims that some of the detained suspects are innocent, passed through prison control has become a matter of curiosity.
