US B-1B bombers land at Incirlik
Two B-1B Strategic Bombers belonging to the US Air Force landed at Incirlik Air Base for refueling as part of a training mission.

Following the downing of an ANKA-type UAV in northern Syria and the rising tensions in Israel, which have impacted Turkey-US relations, there was notable activity at Incirlik Air Base today.
The US Air Force's B-1B bombers landed at Incirlik Air Base for refueling as part of a training mission.
According to a statement from Incirlik Air Base, "hot-pit" refueling refers to the tactic of refueling an aircraft while its engines are still running.
The aircraft in question remained at Incirlik Air Base for less than two hours before departing for a training mission with the Turkish Air Force.
The B-1B bombers were integrated with the Turkish military to conduct Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) procedures and close air support training missions for pre-planned training exercises, which also included KC-135R Asena tankers and F-16 Fighting Falcons.
PRAISE FOR INCIRLIK BASE
US Air Force 9th EBS Commander Lieutenant Colonel Stillwell stated, "The teamwork we demonstrated with our Turkish Air Force partners showcased the interoperability and professionalism of NATO airmen."
US Air Force 39th Air Base Wing Vice Commander Colonel Robert Schoeneberg also remarked, "We are excited to support and commemorate this historic hot-pit refueling operation at Incirlik."
Schoeneberg emphasized that this "demonstrates the base's unique capabilities and strategic location."
The strategic location of Incirlik Air Base, one of Turkey's largest military facilities, makes it a hub for emergency operations and NATO integration.
