MÜSİAD President announces: Mid-year raises should be at the employer's discretion

MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı made statements regarding the current agenda. Regarding the expectation of a mid-year minimum wage hike, Asmalı commented, "The minimum wage should be at a rate that maintains balance and should be set once a year."

Emphasizing that mid-year raises should be at the employer's discretion, Asmalı said, "A regional minimum wage should be brought to the table."

NEW REGULATION FOR FOREIGN WORKERS ON THE WAY

MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı stated that a new regulation is being prepared for foreign workers and that the Ministry of Interior is working on this topic.

Asmalı announced that the step the Ministry is preparing to take will be shared with the public very soon.

Evaluating the minimum wage in the context of inflation, Asmalı said the following:

"Inflation came in above expectations; our year-end forecast is in the 43-45 band... The minimum wage should be at a rate that maintains balance, should be set once a year, and mid-year raises should be at the employer's discretion. Bringing the regional minimum wage to the table is of great importance."
