İmamoğlu visits MÜSİAD: Cooperation with the business world is very valuable for Istanbul

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu continued his visits to the business world with the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD).

İmamoğlu visited MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı. Following the meeting at the MÜSİAD Headquarters, İmamoğlu and Asmalı made statements to the press.

"THERE IS A VERY RICH SOURCE OF KNOWLEDGE AND INSIGHTS WITHIN MÜSİAD"

İmamoğlu said the following:

"We had a desire to come before, but we were unable to establish a healthy dialogue at that time. Thank you to the President; with his courtesy regarding the process and his visit to us, I feel that this meeting is very valuable right now. I would like to thank both him and his management for their welcome today. As the İBB, we are an administration and a delegation that knows that cooperation with the business world at the highest possible level is very valuable for Istanbul. We partially informed the President and his delegation about what we have done during this term, and we also shared our thoughts on what kind of cooperation could be possible for the next five years, if fate permits. It was very valuable. Because we believe that our Istanbul will be much more successful if it carries cooperation with all ideas, all institutions, organizations, all sectors, or stakeholders to the highest point. Otherwise, no single institution, no single person, no single entity can claim to possess all the knowledge. We know that there is a very rich source of knowledge and insights within MÜSİAD. I hope we will carry this cooperation to a stronger level in the coming period.”

ASMALI: WE HAVE LAID THE FOUNDATION FOR COOPERATION IN MANY AREAS TOGETHER

Asmalı also expressed his satisfaction with İmamoğlu's visit with the following words:

“Today, our İBB Mayor Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu and Bakırköy Mayoral candidate Ms. Ayşegül visited our institution. It was a courtesy visit. My President had never come before. They honored us with their presence. We talked generally about Istanbul. We consulted on the work to be done in Istanbul, especially regarding earthquake preparedness and other issues. As MÜSİAD, we also provided information about the work we do on behalf of the institution. From now on, I hope that in the coming times, both as MÜSİAD and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, we have laid the foundation for working together in many areas. I would like to thank the President and his entire delegation again for their visit.”
