Dilan and Engin Polat's arrest on charges of money laundering and tax evasion has led to a series of problems at 'Dilan Polat Beauty Centers'.

Although the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) seized branches partially owned by the Polat family, 80 percent of these centers continue to operate as franchises. However, it appears that service disruptions have begun due to a lack of equipment and product supply. Hundreds of comments and complaints regarding the issue can be found online.

The beauty centers are either canceling services that have been paid for in advance or scheduling appointments months in advance. Furthermore, online sales of Dilan Polat-branded products have been suspended. Deliveries of beauty products from the headquarters, excluding franchise-based product sales, are not being fulfilled.

APPOINTMENTS SCHEDULED TWO MONTHS OUT

Arzu Alaç, who purchased services from Dilan Polat Beauty Centers by paying in advance, said, "I had part of my 20,000 lira procedure done. However, after the arrests, I experienced problems with my remaining sessions. They are giving me appointments for two months from now."

Another customer, Selma Cankatan, stated, "They say there is a product issue for the procedure I signed up for. They claim it is imported from abroad. It is unclear when it will arrive. I will apply to the court."

RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT

Lawyer Semin Temizöz stated that those who have been aggrieved have the right to file a lawsuit, noting, "Since these businesses are in a franchise position, they are not included in the Polat investigation. In other words, they are obligated to continue their services.

They are specifically obligated to complete procedures for which advance payment has been made. The image problem the brand has suffered does not concern the customer. The service commitment provided must be fulfilled. Otherwise, the consumer can take the matter to court. Ultimately, the businesses are continuing to operate," she said.

'THEY ARE SELLING THE EQUIPMENT'

On the other hand, entrepreneurs who purchased franchises from Dilan Polat are just as dissatisfied with the situation as the customers. A franchise owner who did not want to be named said, "We made very large investments. We are experiencing both a loss of customers and a loss of image. After the incident was reflected in the press, our customer traffic was seriously affected. Some of our employees have left. We cannot find anyone to talk to regarding the matter. Some of our colleagues are considering closing their branches or changing brands. Others are leaving the profession by transferring their business or selling their equipment," he said.
