The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums has announced that the repair and improvement works carried out at Galata Tower have been completed and that it will reopen to visitors as of today.

The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, stated that the repair and improvement works at Galata Tower have been completed.

It was stated that the works carried out at Galata Tower were implemented using modern technologies under the guidance of expert academics, in accordance with projects prepared based on technical analyses and ground-penetrating radar reports conducted on the reinforced concrete structures added between 1964 and 1967.

In a post shared on the social media account of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums, the following statements were included:

"The restoration works have been completed in accordance with the rules of science and art, and the structure has been arranged to both protect our cultural heritage and host visitors as well as migratory common swifts.

The works were supported by comprehensive applications carried out by professional mountaineers. At Galata Tower, which will reopen to visitors as of May 25, 2024, controlled entries will be permitted within the framework of a visitor management plan, with a maximum of 100 people per hour."
