Galata Tower closed to visitors today! When will it reopen?
Galata Tower will be closed to visitors for one month starting today due to earthquake reinforcement and exterior facade repair work.
The 8th floor of Galata Tower was closed to visitors last November due to roof repair work. During this process, the conservation of the tower's finial was completed and it was placed back in its position.
In line with the details identified, the exterior facade of the tower will also be repaired.
The work on the tower, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2013 and is one of the important structures of the Istanbul skyline, is planned to be completed in April.
