The number of MPs who have signed to nominate CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu at the Grand Congress has reached 95. Thus, the name leading the race in the CHP, which has 130 MPs, has become clear.
The MPs issued a press statement regarding the candidacy of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, whom they currently support for the chairmanship.
CHP Burdur MP İzzet Akbulut, who led the press statement, emphasized, "We believe that pinning the bill for the election results solely on our Chairman is a distortion of the scales of justice and prevents a healthy analysis of the election results."
"THE RENEWAL PROCESS WILL BE REALIZED BY UNITING, NOT BY DIVIDING"
Akbulut's statement is as follows:
"As 95 out of 130 MPs, we have given our signatures to support Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu at our 38th Ordinary Congress.
Throughout our history, we possess a party history, memory, tradition, and perseverance that has seen coups, has been attempted to be closed down and intimidated, but has managed to remain standing every time.
Today, the CHP has initiated the renewal process with its renewed organizations. It is inevitable that the renewal will proceed on a path that will strengthen our organization, consolidate our bonds of trust, and protect the unity of social democrats.
The CHP continues its struggle with its six arrows, its program, and the universal principles of social democracy.
We do not see the election results as a leader-centered window of opportunity. We believe that pinning the bill for the election results solely on our CHP Chairman is a distortion of the scales of justice and prevents a healthy analysis of the election results.
Our Chairman Kılıçdaroğlu has also signaled that the renewal move will be continued with a bylaw congress.
Our primary goal ahead is to consolidate our services in local governments, which continue their duties under the leadership of our Chairman, as in 2019, and continue populist municipalism. Our focus is to win new municipalities for our party in all our provinces and districts.
We do not have time to fight with each other. We have a party that will be strengthened by the richness of our ideas. The renewal process will be realized by uniting, not by dividing.
We, 95 MPs, with our strength coming from history, know that the renewal process of our party, which was bequeathed to us by our great leader and eternal leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, can take place under the leadership of our Chairman Kılıçdaroğlu, and we support this process to the end."
