The Republican People's Party (CHP) has begun the countdown for the Statute Congress to be held in September. During this process, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel is continuing his preparations and holding meetings with the party's former chairmen.
In this context, Özgür Özel met with former chairmen Altan Öymen, Hikmet Çetin, and Murat Karayalçın in Istanbul.
During the meeting, he listened to the former chairmen's suggestions regarding the changes to be made to the party statute. CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik was also present at this meeting.

CHP Chairman Özel is also expected to hold a meeting with former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in the coming days.
EXTRAORDINARY CONGRESS DECISION WAS TAKEN
The CHP Party Assembly had decided to hold an Extraordinary Congress between September 6-9 to amend the statute and initiate work on program changes. The symbolic opening of the congress will take place in Sivas on September 4, on the 105th anniversary of the Sivas Congress.
The Party Assembly will convene in Sivas for this meeting, and the Parliamentary Group and Provincial Chairmen will also attend. The Extraordinary Congress will officially begin on September 6 and continue in Ankara until September 9.
