Criticizing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over the trustee practices, İmamoğlu remarked, "Can a person be this oppressive to the nation just to protect their position?" Furthermore, regarding the cancellation of an appointment by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek, he stated, "Call again and request it," emphasizing the importance of inter-institutional dialogue.

When asked about a potential presidential candidacy, İmamoğlu stated that their current priority is to stand against lawlessness and injustice, replying, "When the day comes, the nation will decide."
