HEDEP Batman MP Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki claimed at a press conference in Parliament that the AKP is "preparing to usurp municipalities it realizes it cannot win through unlawful methods."

Arguing that "the AKP is hostile toward Kurds and ignores the political will of the Kurds," Tiryaki alleged that this perspective is not just that of one person, but the dominant view of the AKP.

Claiming that municipal councils where trustees have been appointed are also not being allowed to function, Tiryaki said, "The AKP is trying every method to usurp our municipalities. The AKP knows it cannot win a democratic race; it is moving voters to win certain provincial and district mayoralties. We will object to these."

"NOT AN ACCIDENT, BUT MURDER"

HEDEP İzmir MP İbrahim Akın, on the other hand, argued that young people staying in Credit and Dormitories General Directorate (KYK) dormitories are facing serious problems.

Akın stated, "Last week, we unfortunately lost dear Zeren Ertaş due to the problems created by this system. I remember Zeren, whom we lost in the prime of her life, with respect and love."

Explaining that he went to the girls' dormitory in Aydın following the incident and received information about it, Akın used the expression, "Which elevator descends to the ground when the 16th person enters, fails to signal, and leaves the door open while moving? This process occurred due to a thousand and one types of negligence. Therefore, this is not an accident, it is murder."
