AKP's local election calendar has been set: When will candidates be announced?

According to the report in Hürriyet; the MKYK meeting will determine whether current mayors will be asked to resign, the provinces where the party will participate in the elections, how it will act within the scope of alliances, the identification of candidates, candidate application dates, and the amount of candidacy fees.

20 THOUSAND TL APPLICATION FEE FOR METROPOLITAN CANDIDATE NOMINEES

In the first stage, the AKP plans to charge an application fee of 20 thousand TL for metropolitan mayoral candidate nominees, 15 thousand TL for provincial mayoral candidate nominees, and 10 thousand TL for district mayoral candidate nominees. It is stated that these figures will be applied at half the rate for young candidate nominees and at one-quarter the rate for disabled candidate nominees.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE END OF NOVEMBER

Mayoral candidates will begin to be announced at the end of November. This will continue until the end of January. The election manifesto and candidate introduction meeting are planned to be held on January 31. The party aims to conduct a straw poll of the organization in the middle of November.

2 NAME SUGGESTIONS WILL BE REQUESTED

In the provincial straw poll form, the options of very good, good, average, and poor were included for the questions: 'How do you find them in terms of municipal services?', 'How do you find them in terms of public relations?', and 'How do you find them in terms of our party's principles and values?'. While the options of 'yes, no, and undecided' were presented for the question 'Would you like the mayor to be nominated again?', it was also requested that 2 names be written for the mayoral candidacy in the province. In the metropolitan mayor straw poll form, it was requested that at most 3 and at least 1 candidate be suggested by saying, 'Write the people you want to see as the metropolitan mayoral candidate from our party.'

TO BE POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT YEAR

The AKP plans to make a legal amendment that foresees leaving changes for the following year in case the formation of district election boards coincides with the election calendar.

DECEMBER 1 IS THE LAST DAY FOR RESIGNATIONS

According to the election calendar planned by the YSK, December 1 is the last day for those who will be candidates to resign, January 1 is the start of the election calendar, January 2 is the announcement of political parties that can participate in the election by the YSK, January 4-17 is the suspension of neighborhood headman (muhtar) district lists, January 31 is the finalization of election registers, February 19 is the last day for submitting candidate lists to election boards, and March 3 is the announcement of the final candidate lists.
