Zafer Party's march to commemorate martyrs blocked

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ announced on his social media account that the march his party's Antalya provincial branch planned to hold to commemorate martyrs was denied by the district governor's office on the grounds that they were not notified in advance.

Özdağ reacted to the blocking of the march intended to be held in Antalya in a post on his social media account.

Stating that he does not understand why this march, intended to commemorate the fallen soldiers, was blocked, Ümit Özdağ reacted to the events in a long post on his social media account.

Özdağ used the following expressions in his post:

Our Antalya Provincial Chairman Mert Özmutlu submitted our petition to the Muratpaşa District Governor's Office to distribute lokma and hold a march to commemorate our soldiers who were martyred by the PKK in Northern Iraq on 26.12.2023.

Later, our provincial chairman was invited by Muratpaşa District Governor Dr. Orhan Burhan. He was told that he should have provided prior notice to hold this commemoration program, and that permission would not be granted for the martyr commemoration program.

He was threatened that if he carried out this program, he would face law enforcement. Our provincial chairman told the district governor, 'We are doing this march in the name of our martyrs,' and left.

"IF WE HAD DONE IT FOR PALESTINE AND HAMAS..."

Now I ask the district governor, would you have given the same reaction if we had held this march for Palestine and Hamas?

The Zafer Party will not give up on commemorating our martyrs at any cost and will continue with its march program.

I invite all the people of Antalya to join the march to commemorate their martyrs. I am sure that the Minister of Interior and the Governor of Antalya will not send police against the people marching to commemorate the martyrs of the Muratpaşa District Governor.
