Ümit Özdağ: Our vote is climbing toward 10 percent

Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, who arrived in the Altınordu district of Ordu to attend various programs, told reporters at a restaurant that his provincial visits in the Black Sea region are continuing as part of preparations for the local elections.

"OUR GOAL IS TO EXCEED 10 PERCENT"

Touching on his party's vote share, Özdağ stated, "As all polls show, the Victory Party has surpassed the 7 percent band and is climbing toward 10 percent. Our goal in these elections is to exceed 10 percent across Turkey."

"OUR GOAL IS QUITE REALISTIC"

Noting that his party's vote share is on the rise in the Black Sea and Central Anatolia regions, Özdağ continued his remarks as follows:

"Until the last 15 days, the regions where the Victory Party's votes were increasing most were Marmara, the Aegean, and the Mediterranean. We were maintaining the votes we received in the elections in the Black Sea, Central Anatolia, and Eastern Anatolia. Now, our party has entered an upward trend in the Black Sea and Central Anatolia as well, which we are pleased to see. At this point, we see that both our party policies are very correct and are now being perceived more clearly by the public, and in the contacts we have made with the public everywhere we go, we determine that this goal of ours is quite realistic and stems from reading politics correctly."

STATEMENT ON SHEIKH SAID

Criticizing the naming of a boulevard after Sheikh Said in Diyarbakır, Özdağ said, "Our legal expert friends are working at the headquarters. One of the things I will do in Trabzon will be to go to the courthouse and file a lawsuit in the Administrative Court to stop the naming of this boulevard."

Özdağ later went to a shopping mall in the district and chatted with citizens. Visiting shopkeepers on Sırrıpaşa Street, Özdağ visited the President of the Ordu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Levent Karlıbel, in his office. Özdağ also gave a speech at a conference organized by his party at the Atatürk Cultural Center.
