With the rapid regime change in Syria, the Assad government has fallen, and power has been seized by jihadist groups led by HTS. It has been claimed that Bashar al-Assad, who went to Russia after the fall of Damascus, is also struggling with a crisis in his private life.

According to a report by HaberTürk, Asma al-Assad, Assad's wife of 24 years, is filing for divorce. It has been learned that Asma al-Assad is unhappy with the living conditions in Moscow and wishes to go to London. To this end, Asma al-Assad has applied to a Russian court and requested special permission to leave Moscow.

According to the claim by Habertürk, Asma al-Assad's application has not yet been finalized as it is still in the review stage.

On the other hand, although Bashar al-Assad's request for asylum in Russia has been accepted, it is stated that he is subject to strict restrictions by the competent authorities. Assad has been strictly forbidden from leaving Moscow or engaging in any political activity.

These restrictions significantly narrow Assad's range of movement.

Bashar al-Assad's assets and access to his money have also been frozen by Russian authorities. This is considered an important measure taken to limit the financial power and future influence of the Assad family.

The decision leaves Assad's movements entirely under Russian control.

Bashar al-Assad's brother, Maher al-Assad, has not yet received approval for his asylum request. While his application is in the review process, it is stated that he is being held under house arrest with his family. This situation reveals the scale of the political and personal problems the Assad family is facing.

If Asma al-Assad's request to go to London is accepted, the Assad family's position in Russia could weaken even further.
