Australia to provide $10 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza

Australia has announced that it will provide $10 million in humanitarian aid to civilians affected by the conflict in Gaza.

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade issued a written statement regarding the humanitarian aid to be provided to Gaza.

The statement noted that of the $10 million in aid to be provided to civilians affected by the conflict in Gaza, $3 million will be given to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for the restoration of essential services.

It was stated that the remaining $7 million of the aid will be used through the United Nations (UN) to provide emergency water, food, hygiene, and child protection services.

The statement included the following remarks from Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong: "We call for safe and unimpeded humanitarian access to be provided to civilians affected by the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza."
