Netanyahu issues instructions to negotiating team heading to Cairo for Hamas talks
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he has instructed the delegation heading to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, for ceasefire negotiations with Hamas, saying, "Continue to be insistent on the conditions necessary for the release of our hostages. Continue to be insistent on the demands essential for ensuring Israel's security."

Netanyahu made statements regarding the operation launched against the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip and the ongoing ceasefire negotiations with Hamas.
Benjamin Netanyahu said, "Last night, with the approval of the War Cabinet, I instructed the IDF to take action in Rafah. Israeli flags were raised at the Rafah Border Crossing, and Hamas flags were taken down.
Entering Rafah serves the two main goals of the war: to bring back our hostages and to eliminate Hamas,” he said.
STATEMENT REGARDING THE RAFAH ATTACK
Arguing that military pressure on Hamas is essential to bring the hostages home, Netanyahu claimed that Hamas's acceptance of the ceasefire proposal presented by Egypt and Qatar yesterday was intended to prevent the Israeli army from entering Rafah.
Stating that the War Cabinet decided on the attack on Rafah unanimously, Netanyahu said, “Hamas's proposal was very far from Israel's core demands.”

Stating that he would not accept a proposal that endangers Israel's security and future, Netanyahu said, “For this reason, I gave the following instruction to the high-level delegation going to Cairo: Continue to be insistent on the conditions necessary for the release of our hostages.
