Palestine Solidarity Platform protests Rafah attack

Following Israel's attacks on Gaza, nearly 1.5 million Gazans had taken refuge in the city of Rafah. After Israel launched an airstrike on Rafah, the Palestine Solidarity Platform, along with various non-governmental organizations, protested Israel in front of the American Embassy in Ankara to condemn the attack under the slogan "No to the Massacre in Rafah." 

The crowd gathered in front of the embassy building chanted slogans such as "Human dignity will defeat Zionism" and "Do not be silent, shout out, no to genocide" to protest Israel. Meanwhile, the crowd did not forget to commemorate Hasan Saklanan, who was killed by Israeli soldiers in Jerusalem.

Zeynel Abidin Özkan, who made a press statement on behalf of the group, drew attention to the fact that nearly 1.5 million Gazans who took refuge at the Rafah border crossing have been struggling with hunger for 214 days following the attacks Israel launched on Gaza.

"THEY WILL RECEIVE THE PUNISHMENT THEY DESERVE"

Emphasizing that the attacks launched on Rafah have also created a security crisis in the region, Özkan stated, “For 214 days, our brothers and sisters in Palestine have been subjected to Israeli genocide before the eyes of the world. Israel has been attempting to intervene in all countries through lobbying activities regarding the ongoing trials at the International Criminal Court, and has been making efforts to ensure that Israeli officials do not receive punishment.

We have all seen that justice actually exists for Israel, and that all countries have been working to support Israel's genocide. It was seen in the documents that emerged today that letters containing pressure to prevent the managers who are partners in Israel's genocide from being punished at the International Criminal Court are being used to corner the court. 

We believe that both in the case heard at the court and in the ongoing case in South Africa, the partners in the genocide will, God willing, receive the punishment they deserve in this world before the afterlife,” he said.
