'Domestic' car Togg is cheaper in Germany! The price difference draws attention

Turkey's domestic car, TOGG's fully electric SUV model T10X, will be introduced at the IAA Mobility Fair to be held in Munich, Germany. The T10X, which will enter the German market in the last quarter of 2025, will be available for purchase there with a price tag of 31,280 euros (approximately 1 million 663 thousand TL).

Thanks to the state incentives offered for electric vehicles in Germany, the price of the T10X will be 700 thousand liras lower than its sales price in Turkey. The exemption from Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) and state support applied to electric vehicles in Germany provide this price advantage. Additionally, a discount of up to 4 thousand euros is applied to electric vehicle purchases in Germany.

AUTOMOBILE TAXES IN GERMANY

In Germany, car owners face various taxes. The Motor Vehicle Tax (Kfz-Steuer) is calculated based on the vehicle's engine displacement and CO² emission values. Electric vehicles can be exempted from this tax as they do not emit 95 g/km of CO². Vehicles with internal combustion engines, on the other hand, pay an annual tax ranging between 100 and 300 euros.

A 19% Value Added Tax (Mehrwertsteuer) is applied to new vehicle purchases, and this tax is included in the vehicle price. Furthermore, a one-time registration fee and license plate fee are paid during vehicle registration. These fees can total around 100-150 euros.

Electric vehicle owners in Germany are exempted from motor vehicle tax for up to 10 years. In some states, advantages such as free city parking, tax deductions, and lane priority are also offered.
