Fiat's affordable SUV move: Two new models on the way

With the end of production for the Fiat Egea, which has enjoyed great popularity in Turkey for many years, expectations for the brand's new models have increased. Fiat's new SUV models, the Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback, are expected to be launched in Turkey in December. The models, prepared with different engine and transmission options, are also expected to include a manual transmission alternative.

FIAT'S NEW SUV MODELS PREPARE FOR THE TURKISH MARKET

Fiat is preparing to expand its product range after the Egea with the Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback models. The two models, which had their European launches in Paris, stand out as the brand's new representatives in the larger family car segment.

The Grizzly, which is planned to be offered in more than 100 countries across three global regions, stands out with its spacious interior and ease of use, while the Grizzly Fastback differentiates itself with a sportier design. Both models have a length of under 4.5 meters, showing that they maintain dimensions suitable for urban use while providing a large interior volume.

GRİZZLY FASTBACK STANDS OUT IN LUGGAGE CAPACITY

Fiat's new models draw attention with their large luggage areas designed for family use. While the Grizzly offers a luggage volume of 545 liters, this capacity reaches 608 liters in the Grizzly Fastback. Thus, the Fastback version becomes one of the models that stands out with its large luggage volume among vehicles under 4.5 meters.

It is planned to offer gasoline, hybrid, and fully electric engine options, as well as manual and automatic transmission alternatives in both vehicles. The product family, which will be prepared with hatchback and fastback body options, will cater to different usage needs.

MANUAL TRANSMISSION OPTION MAY BE DECISIVE FOR PRICING

The manual transmission versions of the Fiat Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback are also expected to arrive in the Turkish market. These options are particularly important for commercial users who prioritize manual transmission when choosing a vehicle.

According to the information shared, the 1.2-liter engine in the manual transmission versions is expected to produce 100 horsepower. The goal is to offer these vehicles at competitive prices. However, the exact engine, transmission, and equipment combinations of the versions to be sold in Turkey need to be clarified.

STARTING PRICE FOR EUROPE IS AT THE 20 THOUSAND EURO LEVEL

The target starting price for the Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback models is planned to be approximately 20 thousand euros. The equivalent of approximately 1.1 million liras provided does not represent the final sales price in Turkey.

Due to the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) and Value Added Tax (KDV) applied to automobiles in Turkey, it is predicted that prices could exceed 2 million liras. However, the brand is expected to keep starting prices as low as possible to enter the market with a competitive price.

Before the Fiat Egea was discontinued, its 1.4-liter gasoline manual versions were sold at a level of approximately 1.3 million liras. Although there are expectations that the new models could approach these prices, there is a possibility that they will be sold at higher prices due to exchange rates and equipment differences. Since the official price list for Turkey has not been announced, the exact figures are expected to become clear during the launch period.

EUROPEAN ORDERS WILL START IN JANUARY 2027

Orders for the Fiat Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback are planned to open in Europe on January 5, 2027. While all engine options are expected to be offered from the start of orders, the first international media drive is expected to take place in February.

At the presentation in Paris, both models were displayed with a 145-horsepower mild-hybrid engine and the La Prima equipment package. The price, equipment, and engine options to be offered for the models expected to go on sale in Turkey in December will be finalized with market-specific announcements.
