Honda bids farewell to its 45-year-old logo: New logo on the roads in 2027

Japanese automotive manufacturer Honda is preparing for a significant transformation in its brand identity. The company has announced that its new logo, which first debuted on concept vehicles, will be officially used on mass-production models starting in 2027.

The new emblem, previously showcased on the "Zero Series" concept cars, will not be limited to electric vehicles following comprehensive evaluations. Honda has decided to use this simplified design as the standard logo across its entire model family.

SIMPLE DESIGN, SAME SYMBOL

The new logo retains the "H" form, which is identified with Honda and is said to symbolize two people holding hands. However, this time, the frame around the logo has been completely removed, opting for a more modern, minimal, and fluid appearance.

Company officials announced that the new visual identity will be implemented simultaneously not only on vehicles but also at dealerships, on digital platforms, and in all promotional materials.

TRANSITION BEGINS IN 2027

The logo change will be implemented gradually starting in 2027. In the first phase, electric and large-segment hybrid models will be offered for sale with the new logo. In the following period, Honda's other models will also gradually transition to this new identity.

45-YEAR-OLD LOGO BECOMES HISTORY

Honda has been using its classic framed "H" logo since 1981. The brand's logo journey has evolved over the years as follows:

1963 – 1981: Designs without frames and with a wider top form, used on the first automobiles, were preferred.

1981 – 2000: The vertically symmetrical "H" logo, surrounded by a near-square frame, became the brand's symbol.

2000 – 2026: The same basic design was maintained, adapting to the digital age with metallic and three-dimensional details.
