New era at vehicle inspection stations

An important step has been taken in the tender conducted by the Privatization Administration. It was decided to transfer the services for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the 1st and 2nd Region Vehicle Inspection Stations operating in different parts of Turkey to the private sector. This decision was made within the scope of Privatization Law No. 4046 and through the method of "other legal dispositions appropriate to the nature of the work."

The concession right, which will be valid for 20 years, was awarded to the MOI Joint Venture Group, which won the tender. In this process, an agreement was reached with a price of 830 million dollars for the 1st Region and 890 million dollars for the 2nd Region.

However, the process does not end here. If the MOI Group fails to fulfill its obligations, the Privatization Administration will convert the secured guarantee into cash and transfer the tender to the AGTT Joint Venture Group, which submitted the second-highest bid. The bid prices of the AGTT Group were recorded as 825 million dollars (1st Region) and 884 million dollars (2nd Region), respectively. If the second-ranked group also fails to meet the conditions, the tender will be considered invalid.

The transfer process will be carried out entirely under the control of the Privatization Administration. This significant decision was made in accordance with Article 3 of Law No. 4046 and provisional Article 8 of Decree-Law No. 703.
