New era in fuel begins: UTTS becomes mandatory
The National Vehicle Identification System (UTTS), which has been made mandatory for fuel sales across Turkey, officially began as of June 2. Vehicle owners who are not registered in the system will lose their tax advantages.
As of today, fuel stations across Turkey have begun conducting sales through the National Vehicle Identification System (UTTS). With the new system, sales made to vehicles that do not have a vehicle identification unit (TTB) and are not registered in the system will be considered invalid under tax legislation.
WARNING ISSUED FOR APPLICATION AND DEVICE INSTALLATION PROCESS
As previously announced by PÜİS Chairman İmran Okumuş, the system became mandatory as of June 2, 2025. In this context, for rental or business-registered commercial vehicles, vehicle owners are required to complete their registration procedures by June 2 and have the TTB device installed in their vehicles by June 30.

Vehicles running on fuel other than gasoline or diesel will benefit from a temporary exemption. These vehicles have been granted a period until December 31, 2025, to install the TTB, starting from July 1.
TAX ADVANTAGE AND EASE OF TRACKING
With the new system, fuel purchases will be recorded automatically. This will allow businesses to automatically deduct fuel expenses from their taxes. At the same time, the Ministry of Finance will be able to track expenditures digitally, ensuring efficiency in tax audits.
