Shocking decision from Mercedes-Benz: Electric vehicle plans canceled!
Flash development in the electric vehicle market! Mercedes-Benz had previously announced plans to sell only electric cars starting in 2030. However, the company announced in a statement last night that it has canceled these plans.
At an event held last night, German automotive giant Mercedes-Benz shared its financial report for the final quarter of 2023 and made several announcements regarding the future. The company stated that its electric vehicle production plans were not progressing as expected and that, as a result, some changes would be made.
A few years ago, the firm had announced an aggressive roadmap for electric vehicles, stating its plan to sell only electric-powered vehicles by 2030. However, the statement made last night indicated that this plan would not be realized. Mercedes-Benz stated that it would continue to produce electric vehicles, but that there would not be a full transition as previously planned.
According to the company's new projection, only about 50 percent of sales in the 2030s will consist of electric models. This represents a significant decrease compared to previous plans. The remaining 50 percent will be met with internal combustion engine vehicles and hybrid models.
