Tesla's decline in Turkey sales continues! Sales have almost come to a standstill

Tesla's entry into the Turkish market in April of last year, the primary reasons for the decline in sales are considered to be the "loss of price advantage," "problems with after-sales services," and "managerial gaps."

NO NEW MANAGER APPOINTED

It was stated that Tesla entered the Turkish automotive market at the beginning of April last year under the General Managership of Kemal Geçer. However, it is stated that one of the main factors in the company's decline in sales is problems related to after-sales services. Additionally, managerial gaps are also considered another reason for the decline in sales.

Tesla's first steps in Turkey were taken with the Model Y, and this received great interest, especially from "Tesla followers." The company's sales in Turkey had drawn attention with competitive prices.

At the launch meeting on April 4, the prices of the Model Y, the only model offered for sale in Turkey, were announced. However, in subsequent periods, it was observed that Tesla's sales in Turkey began to decline.

Tesla's deliveries to Turkey began in May 2023, and more than 10 thousand vehicles were sold within 4 months after the launch.

According to ODMD data, when looking at Tesla's monthly sales in 2023, a high sales graph was seen, especially in August. However, sales fell in the following months, and total sales for 2023 reached 12 thousand 150 units.

Due to limited personnel in after-sales services and managerial difficulties, customer dissatisfaction began to increase, and this situation negatively affected Tesla's sales in Turkey.

Following Kemal Geçer's departure from his position, a change was made in Tesla's management structure in Turkey.

At the beginning of this year, there was a significant decline in Tesla's sales, and this situation was carefully examined by industry experts. Among the main reasons for the decline in Tesla's sales were the decrease in the vehicle availability problem in the market and rising prices.

Looking at Tesla's March prices, it was seen that there was a significant increase in the prices of the Model Y.

Tesla's future in Turkey will be shaped depending on the measures it takes regarding issues such as after-sales services and pricing policies.
