The used car market in 2023! Vehicles aged 10-15 years were the most listed
The used car market in Turkey experienced a very active year in 2023. Factors such as the rapid rise in car prices during the first half of the year, difficulties in the supply of new vehicles, and an increase in vehicle purchases for investment purposes led to an increase in used car prices as well.
arabam.com evaluated the used car listing data and price movements for 2023.
According to the arabam.com monthly price index, which is based on listing prices, prices decreased by 2% in December. However, used car prices recorded a 65% increase in total for the year 2023.
Based on the evaluation made according to the vehicle listings shared on the online platform, arabam.com CEO Arda Ayvaz stated, "Although a decline in car prices was observed in the second half of the year, when we look at the year as a whole, a price increase above the exchange rate rise occurred in both used and new cars." Ayvaz also noted that vehicles in the 10-15 age range were the most observed in listings in 2023 and that there was a 9% increase in listings for vehicles with over 300,000 km.
