5 names stand out: Name mentioned for the first time for AKP's IMM candidacy

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated upon his return from Hungary that local election candidates would be announced gradually by the end of the month, and the AKP is expected to announce its candidate for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoralty on December 29-30. 

According to the report by Nergis Demirkaya from Gazete Duvar, these names are as follows: 

Former ministers Murat Kurum and Adil Karaismailoğlu, along with Esenler Mayor Tevfik Göksu, Fatih Mayor Ergün Turan, and Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen.

It is stated that there is no candidate among these 5 who is clearly ahead, and it was noted that the names of Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, who were mentioned for Istanbul, did not feature prominently among the suggestions.

NAME MENTIONED IN POLITICAL CIRCLES FOR THE FIRST TIME

While the names of former ministers Murat Kurum and Adil Karaismailoğlu, as well as Esenler Mayor Tevfik Göksu and Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen, had been discussed in political circles previously, the name of Fatih Mayor Ergün Turan has appeared in these circles for the first time.
