AKP President Erdoğan had made a promise regarding a marriage loan before the election. Most recently, following a Cabinet Meeting, Erdoğan stated, "We will offer an interest-free loan opportunity to newlywed couples to be covered by the Family and Youth Bank, and we will implement this as a pilot project in the earthquake zone."

According to the report in Sabah, the AKP has prepared the draft text of the law. The legislative proposal is expected to be brought to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) next week and to be enacted rapidly.

FUND SYSTEM

According to the information obtained, the 150 thousand lira loan for young people who are about to get married will be provided interest-free, with no payments for the first 2 years and a 5-year repayment period. The Family and Youth Bank will consist of representatives from the Ministries of Treasury and Finance, Family and Social Services, and Youth and Sports, and will operate like a fund. The fund will serve under the umbrella of the Ministry of Family and Social Services. The Ministry of Family will organize loans related to families, while the Ministry of Youth and Sports will organize those aimed at young people. The bank will not have a separate building or staff. A portion of the state's share in mining, natural gas, and oil revenues will be transferred to the fund. The transferred share will be increased according to need.

WHAT WILL BE THE CONDITIONS AND LIMITS?

While the age limit for the support has not yet been determined, it is planned that the support will be interest-free, with no payments for the first 2 years, and repayable over 5 years. It is anticipated that applications will be made via e-Devlet.
