Is Yeniden Refah fielding a candidate in Istanbul? Claims regarding Erbakan's son-in-law!
With the March 31 local elections approaching, it has been claimed that the New Welfare Party (YRP), which entered the May 14-28 elections under the umbrella of the People's Alliance, will field a candidate.
Speaking as a guest on the Cansu Canan ile Özgür İfade program on TV100, journalist Sinan Burhan stated that in the 2019 local elections, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu won by 13 thousand votes, and that the votes of other parties were also significant in this result.
"ERBAKAN'S SON-IN-LAW MEHMET ALTINÖZ"
Stating that the President and the YRP met in recent days, Sinan Burhan noted that following this meeting, some media outlets claimed that the YRP would not nominate a candidate in Istanbul. He expressed that the YRP received 3 percent of the vote in Istanbul in the May 14 elections and that their votes have risen even further in current polls.
Stating that the YRP candidate is Mehmet Altınöz, Burhan said that Altınöz is the son-in-law of Necmettin Erbakan.
YRP Chairman Fatih Erbakan had recently announced that they would field candidates in elections outside of Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. Erbakan also denied allegations that he had requested certain provinces and districts for an alliance.
