Before the lists are finalized on February 20, the IYI Party is announcing its Istanbul candidates today at an introductory meeting held at the Haliç Congress Center. According to information obtained by 12punto, the candidates for Sarıyer, Avcılar, Çekmeköy, and Esenyurt will not be among those announced by the IYI Party today. The decision regarding Sarıyer was influenced by the CHP's failure to re-nominate the current mayor, Şükrü Genç. Normally, the IYI Party was expected to announce the name of Sarıyer district head İbrahim Temur today. However, due to the candidacy dispute within the CHP in Sarıyer, plans for the district are being redrawn. According to information obtained by 12punto, the IYI Party has extended a candidacy offer to Şükrü Genç in Sarıyer. A response is awaited from Genç. If an agreement is not reached, the name of İbrahim Temur will be announced.
