The possibility of price hikes for electricity and natural gas is occupying the agenda in the energy sector. Discussions are ongoing regarding increasing the ceiling price set per megawatt-hour applied in the spot electricity market.
According to sources in the sector, the proposal to raise this ceiling, which is currently at the level of 3 thousand 400 TL, to 4 thousand 100 TL has been placed on the agenda.
In evaluations made within the sector, it is stated that energy producers and distribution companies have shared their demands for price increases with the relevant institutions due to rising costs. While the intensity of contacts made with authorities draws attention, it is noted that sector representatives are underlining their demands for price hikes.
