Reaction to claims of switching to the AKP!
Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal has firmly denied rumors that she would join the AKP.
Following the switch of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu to the AKP, claims have emerged that some other CHP figures might take a similar step. Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal, one of the figures targeted by these claims, issued a harsh statement against these rumors. Emphasizing her determination, Köksal said, "If there is no room left to engage in politics within the party, I will still create a new space within this party. In the past, I was kicked out the door and came back through the chimney; if necessary, I will come back through the chimney again."
Addressing the claims circulating on social media, Köksal stated, "I see some trolls writing that I will engage in politics in another party. I am addressing them: You are only worth the fee you receive. Success is not a coincidence; I have reached this point by working throughout my life."
Furthermore, noting that she was threatened with her child's life during her time as a member of parliament, Köksal said, "Those who cannot derive benefits from the municipality are now attacking with troll teams. I am a child of the Republican People's Party founded by Atatürk, and my loyalty to this party is unshakable."
