Counterfeit alcohol tragedy: Famous businessman Rıza Kalkavan has passed away

Businessman Rıza Kalkavan, the brother of actress Billur Kalkavan who passed away in 2022, has become a victim of counterfeit alcohol.

WHY DID RIZA KALKAVAN DIE, WHAT WAS HIS ILLNESS?

It is alleged that Kalkavan suddenly fell ill after consuming an alcoholic beverage he purchased from a business in Ortaköy during dinner.

Kalkavan, who first experienced vision loss, was rushed to the hospital by his relatives.

PASSED AWAY IN INTENSIVE CARE

Kalkavan, who was taken into intensive care, lost his life this evening despite all interventions.

The cause of death of the 59-year-old businessman has not yet been finalized. Kalkavan's body was sent to the Council of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Journalist Asena Özkan, who announced the sad news on social media, stated the following:

"This time, counterfeit alcohol has taken my dear friend Rıza Kalkavan, who was very close to me, from among us. Please warn your acquaintances; there is no joking about this, do not consume unbanded alcohol. Rest in peace, beautiful person Rıza Kalkavan, beside your dear mother and your only sister Billur. It is impossible for us to forget you."

Rıza Kalkavan was the brother of actress and presenter Billur Kalkavan, who passed away on October 15, 2022, due to lung cancer. Nâzım Kalkavan made his second marriage with Nuyan Germiyanoğlu. Rıza and Billur Kalkavan were born from this marriage.

Rıza Kalkavan's father, Nâzım Kalkavan, was one of the leading figures in the maritime industry. Rıza Kalkavan, who passed away yesterday at the age of 59, bore the same name as his grandfather.
